Further to comments made at the International Course Builders Conference at Burghley we have developed a method of holding poles onto cross country fences that is easy to use by Course builders and fence judges alike! In doing so they are horse friendly and great if you use portable fences that can get knocked from time to time. All that is required is 2 sections of this to be fixed to the side of a fence and it will hold it in place .. UNLESS it has been hit by a horse or rider and at that point it will detach from the fence. This design will also conform to the British Eventing guidelines 2022. It is also possible to get away with one section of this fixed to the fence and the base located into the ground. The Event Pole Retainers are made from cured lengths of PVC with a internal PVC Core and comes with shaped washers and fixing screws.
